The Cisco 2951 ISR G2 (C2951-VSEC-SRE/K9) is a modular integrated services router designed for mid-market branch offices and small enterprise sites requiring integrated security, voice, and data services. This platform supports up to 3 Gbps throughput with three 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and integrated services processing via onboard acceleration modules. The bundle includes SRE 700 (Services Ready Engine) for advanced content inspection and threat defense, PVDM3-32 DSP module for voice processing, and unified communications plus security feature licenses. Compatible with Cisco IOS XE Software, the 2951 accommodates additional HWIC and DSP modules for scalability. Typical deployments include WAN gateway consolidation, branch-level encryption, voice/video over IP, and stateful packet inspection in networks up to several hundred concurrent sessions.
